Qualification FAQ

How many Social Marketers can attend the New Leader Conference?

We are excited to announce the 2024 New Leader Conference. New Leader Conference is a limited capacity and attendance will be on a first come first serve basis.

Please do NOT book flights until after you have received an email invitation. 

If you are interested in attending and the available spots are filled, you will be added to the waiting list. We will notify you if space becomes available due to cancellations, and the waitlist operates on a first-come basis.

Email invitations will be sent to those who qualify for registration. 

Who can attend the New Leader Conference?

This year`s New Leader Conference welcomes all Social Marketers who qualify, including those who may have attended in previous years!  

Qualification period: January 1 – April 30, 2024

To qualify, Social Marketers must:

1. Qualify as Director 1 or Platinum 1 for 2 of the 4 qualification months
~OR~
Qualify as Director 1 or Platinum 1 for the first time during the qualification period

2. Earn a minimum of 20 Modere Mover points during the qualification period. 

What are the benefits of attending?

New Leader Conference Participant, you will enjoy:

  • First-time qualifiers will receive hotel accommodations at the Provo, Utah Marriott on Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8
  • All qualifiers will receive
    • Registration materials
    • Meals
    • Exceptional training sessions led by our keynote presenters
    • Conquer Your Y Experience 

Can I attend if I’ve attended a previous NLC event in person?

Yes! This year, we’re inviting any qualifier to attend in person, whether they have attended previously or not! Previous attendees will need to cover their own hotel accommodations expenses but can still enjoy the benefits mentioned above. Qualifications must be met during the current period to receive an invitation.

How do I register to attend?

Registration will open until Friday, May 5, 2024 or until all available spots have been filled. Qualifiers will receive an email invitation with a personalized registration link to confirm their attendance. If registration is not submitted by the deadline, invitations will be sent to the next qualifiers on the waitlist. 

*NOTE: If you register and are unable to join us, you MUST cancel your ticket in writing on or before Friday, May 5, 2024. Registrations cancelled after May 5, 2024 will incur a $300 penalty, which will be deducted from your July commissions.  To cancel please email us at events@modere.com.

How can I earn Modere Mover points?

For detailed information on earning Modere Mover points, refer to the  Modere Movers FAQ.

Can I combine Modere Mover points from other accounts?

No, points cannot be transferred or combined with other Social Marketers’ accounts.

Can my registration be gifted or transferred to another Social Marketer?

No, attendance is restricted to qualified Social Marketers only, and registration is non -transferable. 

Are guests allowed to attend?

This event is exclusively for qualifying Social Marketers.  Each qualifying account will receive one invitation, except for co-applicants, if specifically requested.  Please note that for a co-applicant to attend, they must be added to the account before the qualification process begins. 

Are meals included during my stay?

Yes! Modere will provide food during the welcome reception on Friday evening, as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday. 

Is transportation covered by Modere?

No, all Social Marketers are responsible for their own transportation costs. 

Is airfare to New Leader Conference included in my stay? 

No. Social Marketers are responsible for covering all expenses related to airfare.

What airport should I fly into for the New Leader Conference? 

Please book your airfare to fly into Salt Lake City International Airport. Additionally, consider exploring flight options to and from the local Provo Airport  Provo Airport.  

How far is the SLC airport from the Provo Marriott? 

The Provo Marriott is approximately a 45-minute drive south of Salt Lake City. 

What are the best options for booking transportation from the airport to the Provo Marriott? 

Some recommended transportation options include booking an Uber, taking a Taxi , or renting a car. Alternatively, you can ride the FrontRunner to the Provo Station from Salt Lake International Airport and then book an Uber to the Provo Marriott. You can check the FrontRunner schedule here and find information on traveling via the FrontRunner here.

Will I be sharing a hotel room during my stay at NLC? 

No, all first-time attendees will be provided with their own private room at the Provo Marriott. Repeat attendees but arrange their accommodations.

If I have attended NLC before and I’m covering my room, do I have to stay at the Provo Marriott? 

No, We have a great room rate at the Provo Marriot. All general sessions are at the Provo Marriott and planned activities start at the Provo Marriott but return attendees may stay where they like. 

What is the dress code and what should I consider packing? 

The dress code for the General Sessions of New Leader Conference is business casual. Part of New Leader Conference is the Conquer Your Y hike. We recommend sturdy shoes/boots, outdoor attire, and a sweater for those who choose to participate in the hike. The average high temperature in June in Provo is 87 degrees.   

You and Your Accompanying Guest

If I qualify for NLC, do I have to be fully registered with airfare to request my guest?

No, but if you are bringing a guest, you and your guest must be registered by April 30, 2024.

Does my guest need to be a Modere Social Marketer?

No, they do not have to be a Social Marketer.

How can my guest register once I choose them?

They can be added during your registration process.

If I am already registered, how can I add a guest?

An email will be sent to you with a unique link to add them to your registration.  Reminder, your guest needs to be registered by April 30, 2024.

Does my guest have to stay in my room?

 Yes.

Does my guest have their room and meals covered?

Yes, a shared room for you and your guest is covered for the first-time qualifiers.  Alumni NLC qualifiers are required to pay for their hotel accommodations.

Can my guest have attended NLC in the past?

Yes.

What expenses is my guest required to pay for?

Airfare and Transportation.

What activities and Meetings can my guest attend?

We strongly encourage your guest to attend the full event.

What registration materials will my guest receive?

Lanyard, custom name badge, Modere-branded notebook, and T-shirt.

Will my guest receive any recognition at NLC?

No, recognition is for the qualified Social Marketer only.
