In an effort to improve the end of month customer experience, speed up shipping timelines, and ultimately better serve you and your customers, we are making a minor update to the monthly SmartShip processing period. Beginning in February 2021, you will no longer be able to select the 29th, 30th, 31st, or 1st of any month to process your recurring SmartShip order. Starting March 2021, all recurring SmartShip orders scheduled to process on the 29th, 30th, and 31st of every month will process earlier, on the 28th of the same month. Also, recurring SmartShip orders scheduled to process on the 1st of the month will now process on the 2nd.
This update only applies to existing SmartShip orders. New SmartShip orders or “Buy Now” SmartShip orders can continue to be placed any day of the month, including on the 29th, 30th, 31st, and 1st.
Due to the high volume of orders, the last few days of each month are typically some of the busiest for our shipping teams, and this update will help reduce shipping and fulfillment delays that can occur during that time. This enhancement to our SmartShip program has been tested in other markets and has proven beneficial to the customer experience, as well as our customer service and shipping teams. When will the SmartShip update take effect?
Because February 2021 only has 28 days, all existing SmartShips scheduled to run on the last days (28th, 29th, 30th, 31st) of the month will run on February 28th. Beginning in March 2021, SmartShips scheduled for the 1st will now process on the 2nd of each month, and SmartShips previously scheduled for the 29th, 30th, and 31st will all process on the 28th of each month.
Will this change happen automatically?
Yes, any SmartShip previously scheduled for the specified dates will be automatically adjusted! Beginning in February 2021, you will no longer be able to manually select the 29th, 30th, 31st, or 1st of any month to process your future SmartShips.
What happens if a new customer places a new SmartShip order or a “Buy Now” SmartShip order during the 29th, 30th, 31st, or 1st of any month?
All new SmartShip orders and any “Buy Now” SmartShip orders will process immediately, as usual. This update only applies to future scheduled recurring SmartShip orders. Please note that this change does not affect any one-time or à la carte orders; those will still process immediately, no matter the date.
How will this affect a Social Marketer’s points or volume?
SmartShip points will always be allocated to the date/volume month when the SmartShip runs. This means recurring SmartShip volume will appear sooner in the month, giving Social Marketers more time at the end of the month to wrap up qualifications.
Can my customers or I still go into the SmartShip manager and change the date of an existing SmartShip?
Absolutely! However, beginning in February 2021, you will only be able to select a date between the 2nd and 28th of any month.
